Meet our skilled coaches

• Coach Ryan was born and raised in Canada, he played minor and junior hockey there as well as in America before being hired in Australia, to play professional hockey. He was selected National Team Coach in Taiwan, a team he coached for the past 10 years. Many medals were won, and he was involved in advancing Taiwan to its highest level in the history of the Country at the U18 level. Coach Ryan is a Taiwan certified coach and has taken several NHL (National Hockey League) coaching clinics. Coach Ryan is currently Taipei Tigers head coach where his leadership and incredible coaching skills have contributed to make the Tigers one of the most successful clubs not only in Taiwan, but also South East Asia.

• Coach Matt Has served as a teacher and varsity head coach at respected US schools. Coach Matt has coached with the USA Hockey National Development Program, working alongside collegiate and professional coaches to develop top-tier athletes. He has also founded and directed succesful hockey schools and youth clubs in the United States, designing innovative training programs and mentoring coaches. Matt played four years of Division I at Boston University, winning the 1995 NCAA National Championship and then went on to play profesional hockey in Europe. Combined with his experience as an IIHF and Division I NCAA referee, Matt provides players with a deep understanding of the game, rules and decision making skills.

• Coach William, our inline specialist and certified coach, has 15 years of experience in ice and inline hockey (roller hockey). He has been the head coach for several inline hockey tournaments and has experience as a National Team player, he played a key role on Taiwan's mens team rise from IIHF Division III to Division II, in 2023 when they won the gold medal. In 2017, as a U18 National team member, William won MVP and in 2023 as a member of the men's National Team he earned pointer leader award.

• Coach Randy has been a goalie coach since 2017 and is currently coaching 27 goalies. Coach Randy is a certified coach, and is the goalie of the Women's National Team Taiwan, since 2018. Our goalies have benefited tremendously of Coach Randy's instruction.

• Coach Bob hails from Montreal, Canada, where he grew up playing hockey. His favorite team is the Montreal Canadiens. He has been in Taiwan for the last 28 years and calls Taiwan his new home. Coach Bob is extremely popular with our Beginner and U8 Teams. His Philosophy about hockey: "Always keep positive. Keep it simple and don't be afraid to make mistakes. This is how players learn and become their best." Coach Bob is an elementary teacher. We are truly fortunate to have Coach Bob supporting our Club.
